The Nigerian and UK Governments set up a partnership – the State Partnership for Accountability, Responsiveness and Capability (SPARC) – in August 2008. The SPARC programme ends in 2016. SPARC was one of five DFID programmes that provided support to help Nigeria use its resources more efficiently and effectively.

SPARC supported governance reforms already underway in Nigeria. The programme helped Nigerian leaders and government employees change governance for the better.

You can find out more about SPARC and the programme’s work on its website:

SPARC would like to acknowledge all Nigerian Government officials and SPARC staff and consultants who produced the various documents and resources.
SPARC was managed by DAI (proudly incorporating HTSPE). Production was supported by the UK Department for International Development (DFID). The views expressed are not necessarily those of DFID.
